Parish Outreach News Outreach Committee 'Happenings' JANUARY - $300 was donated to the Salvation Army emergency shelter for the homeless that was set up during the cold weather early in the new year. FEBRUARY - a clothing drive was held for the Mission to Seafarers. THANK YOU to all that donated clothing. The used clothing unit at the Flying Angel Club is a very popular part of the services offered by the Mission to Seafarers. MARCH - $ 200 WAS DONATED TO Ramesh Ferris's cross Canada Cycle-to- Walk Polio Awareness campaign. CHALLENGE - the Outreach Committee challenges the parish to meet -and even exceed the $200 donation. Donations can be put in the designated container at coffee time on Sunday March 2nd and March 9th and at the luncheon on the 9th. As well, donations could be made through envelope giving (designated for Cycle-to- Walk). COMING IN APRIL - PWRDF SUNDAY (April 13th) Other Financial Outreach Dragon Ladies We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.The Dragon Ladies enjoy meeting for dinner on the first Wednesday each month at various restaurants. They make a small donation to the “Phone Box” each time, and this money is used for outreach. This month they have donated $100 to Ishtar Transition House. ACW The ACW do their major outreach donations once a year, and this year the list included the following: Covenant House $100 St Judes $100 Mission to Seafarers $150 Ishtar Transition House $350 Precious Jewels $300 Camp Artaban $200 Bibles for Missions $50 Vancouver School of Theology $200 PWRDF $250 WA House Social Action $100 WA House Maintenance 100 Langley Food Bank $250 They also send $50 a month to the Food Bank, and in addition donated $1,000 towards the Parish Mortgage.
