 Parish Life in a Nutshell Minimize

ACW
The Anglican Church Women meet once a month for fellowship and support of the parish. A one hour Bible study is followed by a bag lunch and business meeting on the 1st Tuesday of the month, 11:00 am in the Church Hall.


ADULT EDUCATION
An opportunity to learn more about the Christian faith and Anglicanism, offered frequently. Check the monthly calendar for details.


ALTAR GUILD
Prepares and beautifies the church sanctuary for Sunday worship services and for special services such as weddings and funerals.


BIBLE STUDY
Nothing currently scheduled but groups can be organized as needed.


CHOIR
An integral part of the Sunday 8:30 am worship service, the choir meets every Thursday at 7:00 pm.


THE CHRONICLES OF ST GEORGE
The parish newsletter and calendar is published quarterly.


COFFEE HOUR
A social time together in the parish hall after each of the Sunday services.


COUNTERS
Parishioners who count and deposit the collection following the services.


EUCHARIST MINISTERS
Parishioners licensed by the Bishop to help administer the Eucharist during worship services.


GARDEN CLUB
This group keeps the church garden looking attractive - if you enjoy working with flowers, and have a little time to spare.


INTERCESSORS
Parishioners who, on behalf on the whole congregation, prepare and read aloud the Prayers of the People during worship services. Contact the Rector.


LITURGICAL PLANNING TEAM
Helps the Rector plan services and special seasonal events. Meets monthly in the Hall.


MEN'S GROUP
Men of the parish who meet together on the first Monday of each month for dinner, fellowship and discussion.


PARISH COUNCIL
The decision-making body of our parish. Its members are elected at the Annual Vestry Meeting and meet monthly to conduct the parish business. Members of the Parish are welcome to attend as visitors.


PASTORAL CARE TEAM
Men and women specially trained to visit people who are unable to leave their homes due to illness or age.


PRAYER CIRCLE
Parishioners who wish to pray for those in any kind of need (in confidence).


QUILTING GROUP
This group meet regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 1 pm - no experience needed, join them for fun, fellowship and a sense of accomplishment.


READERS
Read the lessons, including the Gospel, each Sunday.


SENIORS' EUCHARIST
Seniors who meet the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 am for worship and lunch. If needed, transportation is provided. All are welcome (seniors and others).


SERVERS & CRUCIFERS
Parishioners (youth and adult) who assist the Rector at the altar and carry the cross during worship services.


SIDESPEOPLE
Greet parishioners, coordinate assembly at the altar rail during Eucharist and take up the collection during the offertory


SUNDAY SCHOOL
An age-appropriate Anglican Christian education programme is provided for children ages 3 to 12. This programme runs in co-ordination with the 10:30 Eucharist service. On the first Sunday of the month during the school year the children participate in a child-friendly Family Eucharist service prior to leaving for Sunday School.


WOMEN'S GROUP
a.k.a. "The Dragon Ladies! - women of the parish who meet the first Wednesday of each month for dinner, fellowship and discussion.


YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE
We hope that you will accept our warm invitation to participate in some of the many activities. As well as the regular groups listed in the "Parish Life in a Nutshell", there are other ‘happenings’ - a Spring Sale on the last Saturday of April each year, a Christmas Bazaar on the first Saturday in December, family dinners, fund raising events, as well as Bible studies and educational opportunities. Details of all these are given in the Sunday bulletin, in our Parish Newsletter "The Chronicles of St George", in the announcements during church services and in the Calendar section of this web site.
